We rolled out the red carpet for the grand opening of our new Mansfield office this week.  And the star of the show was our favorite lady, Ebby Halliday, who autographed her biography “Ebby Halliday: The First Lady of Real Estate” and visited with all those in attendance.

The guest list included a who’s who of civic leaders and dignitaries from the city of Mansfield and real estate industry.  Everyone enjoyed great food, networking and touring the wonderfully designed and new state-of-the-art office before gathering for a ribbon cutting marking a new future in Mansfield for the largest independently owned residential real estate company in Texas and 8th largest in the country.

The opening of the Ebby Mansfield office is part of the company’s yearlong 65 Years of Service campaign marking the 65th anniversary of Ebby Halliday, Realtors.

“The new Ebby Mansfield office is the gateway of this amazing developing area,” says Marilyn Newton, sales manager of the Ebby Mansfield office.  “The Highway 287 corridor is developing at an amazing pace and this will bring more clients and increase our visibility in our communities.  Our central location to vibrant cities, exceptional neighborhoods, businesses, education centers and the southern region of the DFW Metroplex will help us better serve customers at all levels.”

The new Ebby Halliday Mansfield office is located at 1600 Highway 287 North, Suite 100 and represents Ebby’s continued commitment to the incredible growing area of Mansfield and the rest of Southern Tarrant County.  The office will also serve Midlothian, Burleson and other outlying areas.

If you missed Ebby’s appearance on The Huckabee Show this past Saturday, don’t worry, we have the full video.

The response has been overwhelming – e-mails, blog posts, Facebook comments, etc are pouring in.

And to top it off, the producer of The Huckabee Show reported today that Ebby’s segment was the highest rated segment on that night’s show!

Here are some excerpts from e-mails they have received since Ebby’s appearance:

“I am a real estate broker of 36 years in Augusta, GA and was moved by the commitment and contributions to the real estate industry by Ebby Halliday over her 65 year career. She has built a model of an institution in her most respected company. I recently interviewed with them in preparing to move to Dallas and would be proud to associate with such an organization. I look forward to meeting her in person.” – Richard R.

“I think your show this weekend was one of the best. I might be a little on the partial side as I am a Realtor with 25 years in the business. I loved seeing and hearing Ebby Halliday, what a classy lady. I don’t think I will ever reach the age of 99 but I am sure going to try by not retiring.” – Cleva R.

“Ebby is not only knowledgeable about her product but she seems very customer service oriented and that is what it takes in this real estate market. Hats off to Ebby and to you for having her on your program. Thanks for the good news and encouragement.” – Pat F.

“The 98 year ‘young’ real estate gal is to be congratulated and held with great respect. Thank you for this show.” – Diane H.

Ebby was a featured speaker today at the joint meeting of the Dallas and Collin County Chapters of the Women’s Council of Realtors at Prestonwood Country Club.  Also in attendance were members of the Dallas Association of Mortgage Brokers.  Ebby signed copies of her biography, Ebby Halliday: The First Lady of Real Estate, along with author Mike Poss before speaking during the luncheon.  She shared many great stories (several very humorous) of her extensive travels with WCR over the years.  Ebby’s involvement with WCR is quite extensive - she founded the Dallas Chapter, helped to found the Texas Chapter (where she also served as President) and, in 1957, served as the National President.  Ebby is pictured above with Shelly Hammer, President of the WCR Dallas Chapter, Sandra Hunt, WCR State President and Kim Raine, President of the WCR Collin County Chapter.
