Of course it took a lot of work to get there - a few garland malfunctions, some tricky ladder work, electrical creativity and raking an entire yard of leaves - but hey, all in a day’s work.
They also got a little help from Caleb Powell and his crew at Nauhaus Home who took a break from their already busy holiday install schedule to line the sidewalk and roofline with hundreds of white lights. The process started a little after noon and went right up to the sunset photo shoot with Sean Gallagher of Sean Gallagher Photography.
Ebby dropped by on her way home before an evening event to check on the progress and give her personal stamp of approval. She is pictured above with the team from Dr. Delphinium: Kelly, Rick, Charles and Vince.
We took lots of pictures and video and will post that soon - and look for the final ad to appear the first week of December.
Thanks again to all our friends at Dr. Delphinium, Nauhaus Home and Sean Gallagher!

The back page of yesterday’s Business Section of The Dallas Morning News was quite impressive. It was filled with incredible homes listed by the Highland Park and Preston Center offices of Dave Perry-Miller & Associates. They also announced some impressive statistics for the last six months.
If you missed yesterday’s ad, you can see all the great homes (we loved how the glowing home at 6608 Forest Creek, pictured above, jumped off the page) here.
If you missed the back page of the Business Section in yesterday’s Dallas Morning News, you missed some incredible luxury homes listed by Ebby Halliday Company, Ellen Terry Realtors.
The featured homes ranged from an $18 million University Park manse in Volk Estates to a stunning authentic Hutsell on Lakewood Boulevard priced at just over $1 million. We also loved the dramatic two-story condo at the W Residences pictured above.
You’ll remember this home from a previous post - the early deadline for the magazine meant this Fall fantasy had to be created in 100 degree heat in late September - which was before pumpkins were officially in season. But the experts at Dr. Delphinium called in a few favors and several thousand pounds of pumpkins magically appeared (and just as quickly disappeared the following morning). Special thanks to our friends at Dr. D and Sean Gallagher for his incredible photography.
This masterpiece was completed just minutes before almost 100 of the area’s top Sales Associates descended upon this Louisiana plantation-inspired estate for a Fall 2009 Luxury Market Update by Brad Edgar and D.W. Skelton - you can learn more about what they had to say here. And yes, they were in the same room.
You can also see some behind-the-scenes footage of how this look came together in this video:

The latest issue of D Home Magazine arrived in mailboxes late last week, which means it should be hitting a newsstand near you anytime.
The cover story, The 2009 Restaurant Design Awards, is an entertaining read featuring the best of Dallas dining in categories such as ”Best Lighting”, “Best-Looking Waitstaff”, and “Best Private Dining Room” (which went to the back room at Tillman’s Roadhouse designed by Todd Fiscus and Rob Dailey pictured above).
But back to real estate. At the front of the magazine (near the full page of homes listed by Jennifer Miller of Dave Perry-Miller & Associates), you’ll find the end result of our latest Dr. Delphinium-designed holiday home featuring 5106 Shadywood Drive in Bluffview listed by Joe Kobell. Be sure and check out the “making-of” video here.
In the real estate section, starting on page 104, you’ll find Real Estate Editor Candy Evans’ picks for “Hot Properties” which includes the majestic White Rock Lake-front estate at 4321 W. Lawther, listed by Penny Rivenbark. The home was designed by Howard Meyer and built in 1940.
The section ends with a neighborhood spotlight on The Peninsula, a neighborhood on the east side of White Rock Lake that the folks at D claim is like having a lake house conveniently located only 10 minutes from downtown. Janice Parson, an Ellen Terry Associate, is quoted saying “It’s Dallas’ best-kept secret, with an almost cult-like following.”
And if all this leaves you hungry for more, pick up your copy of D Home today at a newsstand near you or see highlights here.

At least 50 lucky individuals will be driving the economic road to recovery in style this Christmas - in the 2010 Jaguar XJ Supercharged Neiman Marcus Edition. It took only four hours and four minutes for Neiman’s to sell out of the 50 vehicles that were produced for their 2009 Christmas Book. Did we mention this cool cat had a price tag of $105,000, including destination charge?
How could this relate to real estate? At the Fall 2009 Luxury Market Update hosted by Ellen Terry Associate and Sr. Vice President Lynn Gardner Collins, David Chance, Sr. Loan Consultant with The Lending Partners LTD said:
“The most influential thing that’s going to happen to make people buy jumbo properties is the recovery in their own portfolios, which affects their access and their comfort level to come up with the down payment. They are getting their latest statements, and their net month-to-month is actually increasing and has been for the last few months, which is a good thing and that’s what is going to increase comfort levels and encourage people to buy.”
