As of right now, there are only 45 days remaining until Super Bowl XLV comes to Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.
And if you’ve driven on the stretch of I-30 that has been named Tom Landry Super Bowl Highway, you’ve surely noticed the Super Bowl themed messages popping up on billboards in preparation for the many visitors who will converge on the area for the February 6 festivities.
The above Ebby billboard can currently be seen on I-30 near Belt Line Road. Other Ebby Super Bowl-themed boards are located near the American Airlines Center and at the intersection of Lovers and Greenville in Dallas – be sure and look for them!
By now you know that the Glee-themed video produced by Ebby’s Little White House Office won the Home Bowl LXV Video Cheer Competition. What you may not know is that in addition to bragging rights and an official trophy, one of the prizes was “an over-the-top tailgate party” to be held at the winning office.
But how does one define “over-the-top”?
We decided to take a cue from the current Feast Interruptus campaign by Tommy Hilfiger – you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about when your memory is jogged by the video below. And so our chic old-fashioned tailgate party was born – plaid covered tables, candlelight, fresh pine garlands a couple of Mini Coopers courtesy of Sewell Automotive, and attendees dressed in their best winter plaids and letter jackets. Eddie Dean’s served up an appropriate fare of brisket and grilled chicken sliders, french fries, fried pickles, Shiner Bock corn dogs, stuffed crab mushrooms and piping hot apple and peach cobblers.
Oh, and there was a very discreet 9 foot by 12 foot video screen rotating 10 feet in the air above the parking lot displaying various Ebby messages. The screen entertained the busy intersection of Preston Road and Northwest Highway from 9am yesterday morning until the trophy was presented that evening - at which time it rotated toward the party and played the winning video to the cheering crowd of staff and Associates.
And not to forget the video’s inspiration, all music played during the party was from the Glee TV show – from classic Christmas carols to Lady Gaga. In short, the corner was rockin’.
A very special thank you to Daniella Giglio and Sewell Automotive for their partnership and support.
How ’bout them Cowboys? If yesterday’s victory has renewed your team pride (or if you never lost it), how would you like to find yourself sitting pretty in a luxury suite at Cowboys Stadium for this Sunday’s game?
We’re giving away not one but three pair of tickets, which also include a suite visit from a legend player. But there’s one catch – today is the last day of the giveaway! So make sure you enter to win before midnight tonight! Good luck everyone!
In Texas we love our football about as much as we enjoy the fried food and corn dogs at the State Fair of Texas. Winning moments feature football legends from College, High School and Pro Football over the last century. Longtime Dallas Cowboys play-by-play announcer Brad Sham has been hosting the countdowns each day this week.
Classic high school games and the pre-World War II college era took a more prominent spotlight in Century in the Making Greatest Moments 80-61, announced Tuesday afternoon at the Hall of State Building during the State Fair of Texas.
Sham was joined by Cowboys legends Russell Maryland and Drew Pearson for the first day of this week’s day-by-day countdown, which highlighted moments 100-81.

Cowboys Stadium was buzzing this afternoon – and for a great cause. For the first time, the annual Dallas Cowboys Kickoff Luncheon, which benefits The Dallas Cowboys Courage House at Happy Hill Farm Academy, was held on the field at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.
Happy Hill Farm Academy is a Christian boarding and day school on the fringe of the Metroplex near Granbury where boys and girls ages five to eighteen live, work and study on a 500-acre, working farm/campus. They accept no Federal or State funding, nor United Way money.
The luncheon was attended by the entire Dallas Cowboys team and coaching staff as well as Owner & General Manager Jerry Jones and family. In addition to the Ebby Halliday Companies, other sponsors included Flowserve, Interstate Batteries, Ford, American Airlines, Bank of America, Whole Foods and Staples.
Congratulations to our 10 Ebby Office managers who won the drawing to attend today’s festivities. They are pictured at the top of this post with company President & CEO Mary Frances Burleson.
